Our First Anniversary… last month.

October 28, 2017 was our first wedding anniversary. I know, I know, I’m just about a month late on this post… but better late than never!

We were incredibly blessed to have an amazing first year of marriage. We both traveled quite a bit; Belize and Guatemala for our honeymoon, Connecticut for Christmas, Oregon for a wedding, Cameron went to Colorado with the student’s ministry for summer camp, and I was able to visit my family in Connecticut. We had a lot of strange, okay, bizarre customer service incidents happen (I’m convinced God has been trying to teach me patience through it all) and spent too much money on our ten year old car. Plus, we got a DOG! Our Miss Freddie Mercury, the sweetest pup you’ll ever meet!

But best of all, we LAUGHED! A lot! At both the good and the bad, and the ridiculous that we experienced. That’s one of my favorite things about Cameron… he can make me laugh in just about any situation, even when I try my best not to.

I have a lot of thoughts about marriage, but I’ll save that for later. For now, I want to say this;

Cameron, thank you for an absolutely incredible first year of marriage. I never imagined this past year being as much fun, crazy, sarcastic, witty, at times infuriating (dang R2-Subaru), and wonderful as it was. Plus, you got me a dog. No matter what could have happened, you automatically won husband of the year for that. Thank you for choosing me every day, but most importantly thank you for choosing Jesus every day first. I still vow to choose you every day, even on the days you have to drag me out of bed (aka, almost every day). I love you with everything that I am, and I am so thankful the Lord brought you into my life.

On our wedding day I had planned to take photos from my point of view through out the day… and I completely forgot! Ha! I decided that for our anniversary, I would attempt to do so to make up for it. So here is a day in the life of The Oden’s… you can click on the photos to make them bigger, just fyi. 😉
